Obituary of Margaret Rose Coffey
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Rose Coffey, 63, was a strong and resourceful role model for her three children: Geneen (Darrin) Fadden; Dwayne (Lee-Ann) Coffey; and Sherry (Ian) Coffey. They will forever be grateful for her love and generosity.
She was born September 24, 1946 in Nelson, B.C. to Edith and Charles Cutler.
Margaret was the youngest of four children, and is survived by her three older brothers: Robert (Carolea) Cutler; Edward (Marion) Cutler; and Gordon (Lynn) Cutler. She was raised in B.C.'s Kootneys, but a trip to the Yukon in her early twenties changed her life, as she fell in love with the landscape. She married in Kelowna, B.C. in 1969 and brought her new husband back to the Yukon where they built a log house by hand while raising three children.
Margaret worked for the Government of Yukon as a school custodian for most of her working life.
Margaret is survived by six loving grandchildren: Ashley, Kayla, Chelci, Skylar, Rogan, and Wyatt, and her friend and ex-husband, Gary Coffey. She will be greatly missed by family and friends currently living in the Yukon, B.C. and Alberta.
