Please share a memory of Eva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eva Florena Vaughan of Provost, passed away peacefully at the Provost Continuing Care Centre on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Eva was born on January 15, 1926 at Prince Albert, Sask. Her childhood years and experiences were happy ones, while growing up on a farm in the Steep Creek district east of Prince Albert. The Prince Albert area remained very special to Eva throughout her life and she returned to her original home many times to visit family and friends. Upon graduation from high school, Eva gained employment as a banker with the Imperial Bank of Commerce at Canwood, Saskatchewan where she met and married on January 5, 1949 her husband Charles (Chuck) Vaughan. It must really have been true love as Eva knew that there were no large numbers in Chuck's bank account! Eva and Chuck during their married life, lived at Smiley and Leask, Saskatchewan and at Edmonton and Provost, Alberta. Eva cherished her three sons Terry, Pat and Scott and she had an active involvement in their various sporting pursuits and activities. With Chuck coaching and Eva cheering many delightful hours were spent at ball parks, as well as at curling and hockey rinks. Eva also volunteered her time as a Sunday School teacher and as a member of the United Church Women with the Provost United Church. During her later years Eva enjoyed many special occasions with her sons and their families at Dillberry Lake. Eva is survived by Chuck, her loving husband of 60 years, three sons; Terry (Marilyn) Vaughan of Red Deer, their two sons Ian and Todd; Pat (Colleen) Vaughan of Provost, their three children, Jason, Ryan and Karla and Scott (Suzanne) Vaughan of Edmonton and their two children, Mykayla and Chayse; brother Charles (Pat) Phelps of Steep Creek; sister Ivy MacDonald of Prince Albert and sister-in-laws, Eva Watson of Victoria and Phyllis Vaughan of Canwood. Eva was predeceased by her dad, Archie Phelps; her mother, Flora Phelps (McCuaig); her brother Jim Phelps and three brother-in-laws, Ken MacDonald, Harry Watson and Jack Vaughan. We thank you Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend for your love and legacy of memories.
