Pius was born July 29th, 1923 at Denzil, Saskatchewan, the youngest of nineteen children raised by Helen and George Schurman. His parents immigrated to Canada in 1908 and settled in the Glen Eden District. Pius married Hilda Ollenberger in 1945, settling in the Denzil area and together raised twelve children. After 86 joyful years he passed away peacefully November 11th, 2009 at St. Mary's hospital in Camrose. Pius leaves to mourn his loving children: Diane (Jerry) Quinn, Jay & Tyler; Brenda (Bob) VanWielingen; Len (Lorraine) Schurman & Leanne; Donna (Rick) Graham, Ashley & Erika; Blair (Liz) Schurman; Lyle (Dorothy) Schurman & Kyle; Karen Fischer, Lynden, Brandon & Amy; Suezette Reichert, Ashton, Jared & Jenna; Jim Schurman; Cindy Schurman, Dylan & Bailey; Pam (Mike) Melenchuck, Ava & Cate; Warren (Sheila) Schurman, Kennedy & Paige; and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen, Anne & Beth Pius was predeceased by his wife Hilda his parents and 16 brothers and sisters. Pius' passing brings to a close a life devoted to his family.
