Obituary of Markus Joseph Stang
Please share a memory of Markus to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Markus Joseph was born on December 21, 1935 on the family farm south of Macklin, Saskatchewan to Emanuel and Barbara (nee Kloster) Stang.
Mark loved to farm and that love brought him to take over the family farm in 1965. Following that, Mark married Dianne Kirwer in 1965 and together they had eight children. Together, they moved to the family farm at Primate, Saskatchewan in 1973 where they continued to farm and gradually retired over the last 15 years and finally sold the machinery and farm in 2015.
Mark was a part of the Primate school board, Knights of Columbus, Macklin Flying Club and loved to curl, dance and his morning and afternoon coffee shop visits. He adored little children, his face would light up when there were little ones around; he was able to spend some quality time with his great grandchildren which he truly loved. Lots of time was spent watching all of his kid's sports and in later years his grandkids, the rink was his favorite place to be. Many of times he would watch practices as well as games of all the children in town. He was a devoted Macklin Mohawk fan.
Mark passed away surrounded by the love of his wife, Dianne and family on August 3, 2018 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 82 years.
