Garnet Earle McGillivray was born on February 18, 1915 in Sarnia, Ontario. He was the only son of John & Mae McGillvary. Earle eventually went on to marry Violet Theaker on February 4, 1942 and together they farmed and raised their family just a few minutes northeast of Provost. Earle passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Provost Health Center on July 24, 2010 at the age of 95 years. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Violet; children, Grace (Joseph) Schlosser of Sherwood Park, John (Beverly) McGillivray of Provost, Gwen (Ron) Smith of Provost, Ross (Brenda) McGillivray of Provost; grandchildren, Val (Rob), Neil (Kim), Trent, Kevin (Lisa), Wendi (Darren), Monte (Raegan), Kirk (Nerissa), Janal (Rob), Dwayne (Mandy), Darren, Ashley (Dana) and Amber; great grandchildren, Luke, Liam, Sarah, Ben, Jonathan, Cashton, Savannah, Kyde, Brittany, Blayze, Landyn, Ryan, Kenzie, Addison, Kole, Victoria, Ty, Nate, Lyle, Autumn and Dakota; sisters, Myrtle (Al) Stanger, Isabelle Sandmaiar and Joan Lee; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Earle was predeceased by his brothers in law, Bill Sandmaiar and Bill Lee.
