Obituary of Claudia Irene Painter

Claudia was born on June 3rd, 1928 to Charlotte and Joseph Skinner at Sifton, AB. She was one of eight children and family was everything to her. On October 12, 1949 Claudia married James Campbell Painter in Wainwright, AB and they would eventually have four children James (Jim), JoAnne, Lorraine and Walter. Claudia worked as a nanny, waitress and supported and nurtured her family in the role of a military wife for over 20 years while Jim served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. The family moved to the acreage North of Hayter, Alberta in 1970. Claudia started what was to become a life filled with her love of family and friends, gardening, raising chickens, cooking, canning and many hours of knitting and crocheting. The grandchildren were Claudia's great joy, many times they could be seen feeding the chickens with her or trailing after her in the garden. Claudia passed away February 18, 2011 at Provost, AB. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren and many friends and relatives.
