Obituary of Jennie Heinrich

Please share a memory of Jennie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Genevive Annie "Jennie" Heinrich was born February 11, 1921 to Frank and Annie Heck. Jennie was the eldest child and raised with five brothers and one precious sister. Jennie married Wendlin Heinrich and together they had one son, Ronald. They resided in Bodo where they enjoyed serving the community by owning and operating the "Heinrich General Store". For years they also worked side by side as custodians of the school. Jennie often spoke how those 'older' days in Bodo were the best; who could argue. How could life get better when you have good food and great entertainment while surrounded by a wonderful community of friends and family. Shortly after becoming a widow Jennie returned to Provost, where she was once again surrounded by great people and things she enjoyed. She loved cooking, and was happiest cooking and baking for friends and family. Her crème noodles, dill pickles, cream chicken and nip would make anyone's mouth water. One of Jennie's favorite pastimes was cards, any game, anytime. She loved her time at the Drop-In and the afternoon and evening card parties with the girls. Jennie also loved bowling, discing, dancing and watching baseball and curling. She planned her daily and weekly events around those precious times. Jennie's passion was definitely her large vegetable garden, her fruit trees and the beautiful flowers she grew. Jennie had many roles in her life. She had been a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and a friend to many. In her own way she taught us all so many things. She taught us how simple things can bring so much joy; she taught us how hard work and physical activity can keep you healthy; she taught us about aging and growing old. She showed us how faith and the love of God can help overcome life's challenges. She will be missed forever. Jennie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Millie, grandchildren, Jackie (Harlan) Reiter and their children, Damien and Cody; Marty (Jessica) Heinrich and their children, Taylor, Jayden, Mitchel; Tim (Kelly) Heinrich and their children, Jake, and Noah; sister, Florentina; brother, Wilfred (Rhonda), sister-in-law, Hilda. Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Wendlin, son, Ron, brothers, Pete (Marie), Christian (Cecilia), Vincent, Carl; infant sisters, Annamary, Theresa, Agnes; brother-in-law, Greg Walz.
