Obituary of Gaylia Adele Scammell

Gaylia Adele Scammell was born on April 29, 1935 at Provost, Alberta to parents, Lars and Florence Paulgaard. She worked at the drug store in Provost and then moved to Edmonton and became a telephone operator. She married Don Scammell on April 9, 1955. In 1958, they bought the farm where they resided until 2001, when they moved into Provost. Gay helped Don operate a trucking company, Don's Transport for 31 years. Gay enjoyed gardening, canning and traveling. The whole family enjoyed her fried chicken on Sundays. Gay passed away suddenly on June 3, 2019 in Red Deer, Alberta. Gay will be sadly missed by her five children, Randy (Sandy), Kim (Ross), Colin (Lenna), Trevor (Jody) and Wanda; ten grandchildren and ten great grand-children; brother, Roger (Shirley) Paulgaard and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Don In 2005; infant daughter in 1956; father in 1985 and mother in 2001. Memorial Donations in memory of Gaylia, are accepted to: Skyline Cemetery P.O.
