Obituary of Dorothy A. H. Read

Mrs. Dorothy Agnes Helen Read was born at Sunnymead Farms in Chauvin, Alberta on January 12, 1922. She was the youngest child of Harry and Ellen Foreman. Dorothy passed away on August 25, 2012 in Leduc, Alberta at the age of 90 years. On June 7, 1941 Dorothy married Ralph Read at her parent's homestead. They then moved to the Read farm just north of Provost to farm and raise their family. Dorothy was very involved in church work. As a young woman Dorothy sang at many church functions as well as taught Sunday School, worked with the youth group, played the piano and organ, and was very involved with the Ladies group. She was a great prayer warrior for the friends and family she loved and the missionaries she supported. In retirement years Ralph and Dorothy moved to an acreage just outside of Leduc to be closer to their children. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ralph in December 1991 and will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Carol & Ben deGroot, (Hank deGroot; Steve, Rachelle and Megan deGroot); Ron & Linda Read, (Nicole, Jason, Jaiden & Nolen Rudyk; Christie, Kevin, Jesse & Jaymie Schroeder); Ken & Val Read (Jared & Carla Read; Kris & Lana Read); Shirley & Lorne Stang,(Jordan; Kelsey Stang) as well as extended family and friends.
