Obituary of Gloria Faith Masson

Gloria Faith Maull was born to Peter and Frances Maull on June 10, 1932. Gloria married August “Bud” Masson on June 15, 1951. They lived on the farm at Metiskow and raised 5 children, Candace, Cynthia, Loren, Arlen, and Tami. Gloria passed away on December 29, 2019 from complications of gallbladder disease. Our mom leaves to mourn, her children, Candace (Dennis), Cynthia (Peter), Loren, Arlen (Linda) and Tami (Tony); numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; brother, Lorne (Diane) Maull, sister-in-law, Aletha Maull, nieces, nephews, other extended family and her dear friend Shirley. Mom was a member of the Metiskow community for many years, belonged to the Homemakers and Ladies Aide groups, was a 4-H leader, helped us practice our public speaking, helped dad drive us all over for activities such as baseball, hockey, 4-H and school events. She worked hard to support the men in the field during harvest with full course meals, going for parts as needed and keeping up with cooking, canning, baking and caring for five children. We all own pieces of crochet, sewing, quilting and knitting that mom lovingly made, even when her sight began to deteriorate in the last couple of years. We knew when we picked up the phone that she would want to know what the weather was like and how the roads were. Her last residence was Wheatland Lodge in Strathmore where she enjoyed her cozy little room, chatting on the phone, crocheting and keeping up with the news or watching curling. She was well until the last couple weeks, we will miss her.
