Obituary of Anastasia Katherine Fleck

Anastasia Katherine (Hauck) Fleck was born on October 6, 1920 at Provost, Alberta. She was fourth born to her parents in a large family of 14 at Bodo and was born, raised and lived her entire life in that area. Anastasia was a hardworking, athletic young person who enjoyed participating in sports and was good at them. She was always happiest in nature or around animals and loved working with horses in particular. Her talents and skills covered a wide range and was, perhaps, one of the most creative people we know. Her hands were NEVER idle; she gardened, sewed, was an excellent cook, knitted and crocheted while raising a large family of her own on a busy farm as well. Mom’s gardens, yard, fish ponds and flowers were a true love and always stunning. She was a life-long member of the CWL and did a lot of teaching, catering, organizing, socializing and cooking for her family, church and community. Her helping hands were always ready. Anastasia had a good sense of humor and an admirable and very strong work ethic. All babies were welcomed and loved…particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she had a real connection with babies and children. We were all blessed that she lived a long, fulfilling, and active life and she will certainly be remembered, missed and admired. “How lucky we are to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Anastasia passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 6, 2020 at the age of 99 years. Anastasia is lovingly remembered & survived by her eight Children, Irene (†Irvin), Edna (Mike), Robert (Elaine), Elaine (Ernie), Wendlen (†Judy), Millie (Doug), Cindy (Jess) and Gordon (Loree); nineteen Grandchildren, Douglas, Darren, Randy, Tyson, Travis, Ryan, Scott, Kelly, Trent, Treena, Tasha, Jason, Craig, Bryan, Evan, Lane, Nadine, Warren and Brittany; twenty-seven Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren and many relatives & friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob Fleck, an infant daughter, Florence and her son, Edwin. May She Rest in Peace with Her Lord and Savior.
