We were very sad to hear of Ed's passing. Unfortunately we were out of the country and could not attend the funeral. I enjoyed time spent working with Ed in Provost plus when he assisted the Bonnyville District. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Ivadell and family, Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Over the years that I spent working with Ed, we had many great conversations about the years spent as a Game Warden and the interesting areas worked. I always marvelled at the dedication to his job and the many days spent checking commercial fishermen, trappers, hunters in some very remote areas. Ed was counted on to get the job completed and to safeguard the natural resources that he cherished. The stories of journeys with his loving wife to many states and trips where he enjoyed finding that "treasure" that only Ed with his "Eagle Eyes" could pick out on a patch of dusty road or countryside historic or long forgotten building site. I will always remember the Retirement party and the tributes to Ed. It was a Classic Ed Schaber moment as he was honored and gave his speech. One of a kind kind of "Game Warden" and will be missed. All our love! Dennis & Lori Urban and family.

My favorite part of working with Edd was listening to his stories about all his travels with Ivy. Edd was such a kind man.

A long time ago Ed and I played Marbles in the dusty school yard back in our home town of Drumheller Since I lived across the Avenue from the school I'd often meet him before school went in. In time, our paths took different directions and, what a surprise when I joined Fish and Wildlife to find him with the Department as a companion Officer. It was always a pleasure to be detailed to work with Ed in the fall checking hunters around his district, Provost. I'll be missing Ed as time goes by, you can count on that !
