Jack was born on April 4, 1928, the youngest child to Albert and Edith Riseley, growing up on a family farm fifteen miles northeast of Provost, Alberta. His younger years were spent growing up in the Green Glade District where he attended school from grades one to eight. He attended some grade nine, but he decided to quit to join the workforce. His Dad’s most famous quote was “You were put on this earth to work...now work!” and work he did. In June 1959, Jack married Janet Chapman and together raised three children, Miriam, Allan and Christine. Sadly, Jack passed away on May 14, 2020 at the Provost, Health Centre – Long Term Care at the age of 92 years.
