The following is a group chat among four sisters, nieces, of Aunt Audrey, children of her brother, Donald Frazier. (Two sisters are missing from the chat). As the four older siblings discussed and remembered things about her, we decided this was the way it would have been discussed if we had all been able to attend her funeral. And so we decided, the best tribute we could give her was our "real conversation" about her.
Its a bit hard to read and long winded, but we want you to feel the love we felt as we discussed this lovely woman and her influence in our lives.

connection to the Frazier side of our family. She was a good strong & fun loving woman. Kept all 6 of us together (so to speak) & at least not torn apart in the government child services where we may never have been to even see each other. I'm very grateful to her for that. She did the best she could with what she had to work with. ❤

As I was going through photos looking for pictures that would "speak to" the woman my Aunt Audrey was, I came across some pictures when Aunt Audrey, my dad and Brian came to visit when I was living in Medicine Hat. My sister Donna had recently had her son Travis. I think he was about five or six months old at the time. Looking at the pictures of Aunt Audrey smiling so big and enjoying little Travis so much, brought home to me again how much she loved children and how she always placed her family first. The next picture I found was the family picture of Aunt Audrey and her sons. I don't know where Myrna was, she must have already been moved away from home. Again the picture reminded me how much she loved her family and how proud she was of each of her children. I found a picture of the quilt she made for my wedding (which I still have 25 years later) and I think of the wonderful skills she taught me. Aunt Audrey taught me how to do hand quilting (although I never was able to keep my stitches as small and even as hers were) and we made several quilts together. I loved learning the various crafts and Aunt Audrey loved to teach the old time skills. Sewing, knitting and quilting are the skills I learned from her that I still use today. Aunt Audrey taught me patience, I was a rather high strung young woman and I was often short with my son Shannon. Aunt Audrey taught me parenting skills again by role-modeling how a mom should interact with her child.
One memory that makes me laugh has to do with my son Shannon when he was very young and Aunt Audrey was babysitting for me. Grandma Frazier was living with Aunt Audrey at the time and Shanny would take a book for Grandma Frazier to read to him. Aunt Audrey got such a kick out of how Shannon would correct Gramma when she would miss a word or skip a part of the story.
Aunt Audrey and I lost touch with each other when she moved to Provost but neither time nor distance can dim the memories I have of her or the respect and love I had and have for this woman who was one of the strongest women I know. I don't know many women today who could walk in her shoes especially with a smile on her face like my beautiful Aunt did.

Aunt Audrey was a strong and influential woman who made a very good impression on me as a young girl. Losing her wonderful husband, Uncle Harley at such a young age, she raised those 6 boys and 1 girl mostly on her own. It wasn't easy but she did it! She will be missed. To the family: Be strong and cherish her memory. Much love to all.
