Obituary of Glen Elden Campbell

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glen Elden Campbell. Glen passed away on September 12, 2020 at the Wainwright Health Centre in Wainwright, Alberta at the age of 92 years.
Glen was born in Hughenden, Alberta on March 30, 1928 to Hubert and Mattie Campbell. He was raised on the family farm near Kessler with his 5 brothers and 1 sister. On July 26, 1956 he married Joyce Mossman. Together they bought property in the Kessler area where they farmed/ranched and raised a family of 3. In 1997, Glen and Joyce sold the family farm and moved to Edgerton, Alberta to begin their retirement years. Sadly Glen lost his wife of 42 years just shortly after they retired. He continued to live in Edgerton until 2019 when he moved into the Battle River Lodge in Wainwright, Alberta.
Glen will be forever loved and remembered by his children, Duane Campbell (Laurie Ellison), Wade (Cindy) Campbell and Connie (Robert) Hellec; grandchildren, April Campbell, Amanda (Ryan) Hopaluk, Shawn Campbell (Crystal Defoe) Brittany Hellec (Sean Bliss), Braiden Hellec, Tonni (Devin) Ollenberger, Cody Ference (Alicja Skora); 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Kaye) Campbell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce in 1999; parents, Hubert and Mattie Campbell; brothers, Aden Campbell, Leroy (Bud) Campbell, Elmer (Curly) Campbell and Robert Campbell; sister, Alice Glibertson; sister-in laws, Gladys Campbell, Arlene Campbell and Margaret Campbell; and brother-in law, Pete Gilbertson; and numerous other extended family members.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small memorial service for family and close friends will be held at the Hughenden Community Hall on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating. Interment to follow at the Amisk Cemetery.
