Obituary of Wilma Mae Rock

Wilma Mae Tario was born on May 9, 1939 in Drumheller,AB to parents, Willis and Mary Tario. Shortly after graduating from Delia School, at a curling bonspiel, she met her future curling partner for life, James "Jim". Wilma and Jim married on November 26, 1960.
Wilma spent over 40 years as a registered nurse, training at the General Hospital in Calgary & Ponoka. Her nursing career was varied across specialities and administrative roles in Bozeman, MT, Drumheller, Wainwright and Larimore, ND.
Between nursing, Jim’s education and farming, Jim and Wilma had 4 children, Christina born September 1961, William October 1964, Rebecca June 1968 and Cameron March 1973.
Wilma and Jim lived in Bozeman, MT until the fall of 1962 when they moved back to the family farm near Drumheller. Wilma nursed in Drumheller and was active in the community, most notably playing the organ every Sunday at the Orkney Presbyterian Church. In 1983 they moved to Wainwright where Wilma continued nursing and supporting her children’s sports activities. In 1992 they moved back to the US for Jim to complete his Masters degree, settling in Larimore, ND where Wilma worked at the Long Term Care Facility and was a fixture on the local golf course. After retirement, they settled back in Canada and built their dream home on the shores of Shorncliffe Lake at Czar, AB.
She passed away surrounded by the love of her family on September 21, 2020 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
She will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 59 years, Jim; four children, Christina (William) Park and their children, Raquel Park and Cassandra (Andrew) Tomlinson and their children, Peyton (8), Wyatt (6) and Ayden (4) and Brad Park; Bill (Kim) Rock and their children, Ryan Dean and James (Courtney) Gibson and their daughter, Locklyn (3.5 months); Rebecca (Wayne) Hunchak and their daughters, Amie Beatch and Tyler Hunchak; Cameron (Lucy) Rock and their children, Kaleb Rock and Cate Rock; Sister in law, Peggy Ann (†Gary) Turnbull; and brother in law, George (†June) Rock; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wilma was predeceased by her parents, Willis and Mary Tario; brother in law Gary Turnbull in 2018; and sister in law June Rock in 2019.
A Graveside Service will be held for all of Wilma's Family and Friends on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sarcee Butte Cemetery near Drumheller, Alberta with Reverend Harold Hunter officiating.
