Obituary of Irma Rose Larson

Irma Rose Karstad was born November 23, 1922 at the family farm south of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. Irma peacefully passed away October 25, 2011 in palliative care in Provost, Alberta after struggling with a blood disease for two and half years. Irma was one month shy of her 89th birthday.
Irma grew up actively farming with the rest of her siblings. She was united in marriage to Elmer Larson on September 11, 1943, during Elmer's service in the Second World War. Irma lived to see many changes and raised six children through some lean, hard years. She was always a loving mother, teaching her children the importance of loving and serving God. Irma and Elmer lived in various places together, cultivating many precious friendships. Retirement years were spent in Mesa, Arizona and Abbotsford, BC before moving into the Hillcrest Lodge in Provost, where Irma lived until the time of her death.
Irma will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Alvin (Irene) of Assiniboia, Stanley (Darlene) of Victoria, BC, Arleigh (Fern) of Calgary, AB, Nels (Noreen) of Southey, SK, Maivis (Bernie) Livingston of Provost, AB, Carolyn (Ron) Moe of Regina, SK; seventeen grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren; sister, Corrine Purves; brothers, Lars (Martha) Karstad of Westbank, BC; Dean (Amy) Karstad of Lady Smith, BC; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews & extended family.
Irma was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, in 1996; infant daughter, Margaret Ann; granddaughter, Nicole Huber; great-grandchildren, Christian and Zennen Huber; sisters, Elsie Bentley and Esther Larson.
