It was with a heavy heart that I recently heard of Nee's passing. I can only imagine the struggle the family has had, as they watched Nee transition from this life. My sincere condolences to all.
To me Nee was always "Auntie Nee", the best friend to my beloved Grandma, Rene (Irene) Edwards. Throughout my childhood years and into adulthood, Auntie Nee & Uncle Reg were an important part of my visits to Evesham. No visit was complete with seeing Auntie Nee & Uncle Reg. My brothers, Glenn & Greg Edwards, spent many hours working alongside Uncle Reg - city kids learning about the joys of farming in rural Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, I was treated to lessons on gardening, collecting chickens eggs and cooking, when Grandma & I visited with Auntie Nee.
We were always treated like part of the extended family in the Partington home. This meant a warm welcome, ready laughter (either with us or at us! :), a reprimand if needed, and always ... an offer of "something to eat". Nee may have found the casual ways of Canadians surprising, but to me she epitomized the personification of a warm Canadian, country-style welcome.
My she find the peace & comfort she brought to those around her.
With Heartfelt Condolences,
Beverly (Bev) Edwards (Daughter of Aldy & Betty Edwards)

So sorry to hear of Nee's passing. I met her when we first moved to Macklin, when I joined the quilting ladies at the Senior Center.
May happy family memories help you at this sad time. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Sincerely Fenton & Margaret Yeo

It has been a pleasure getting to know Nee and an honour to help her over the years. I admired her witt and wonderful etiquette. I also loved her teasing and always left her place with a smile on my face. She graciously taught my daughter how to knit in her 90’s. Such a kind lady. I will always remember her fondly. My deepest condolences to her family.

Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Nee. She was a very loving lady with a great sense of humour. Nee was one of the first persons to welcome me to the Macklin area. While she was at St. Joes she was the epitome of grace. We would eat ice cream or scrambled eggs or anything we could think of “ as long as it’s not any trouble. Her life as a war bride was a legacy and her gardens were well known. When she couldn’t sleep we would talk about what we were going to put in the garden. It was my honour and privilege to have helped her and her family. God bless you
