Obituary of Tessa Felicitas Cornish

Please share a memory of Tessa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tessa Felicitas Cornish was born on March 20, 2005 in Lloydminster, SK to Devon and Felicitas Cornish. She was the third born and joined siblings, Jacoba and Rhett. Tessa completed their family of five. Tessa had a beautiful spirit. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and smile; her laugh was contagious. Tessa was a fun sister to Jacoba and Rhett. She brought so much life to our family. We are so proud of our daughter for living her life to her fullest and bringing joy and laughter to everyone around her. Tessa enjoyed sketching, painting, diamond painting and especially journaling and writing out scriptures. Tessa made three quilts with her great-aunt Hazel over many summers. One being a special quilt for her grandma Chibri after she was released from the hospital. Quilting was a great way to get crinkle cookies, red juice and visit her auntie’s cat, Lucy. For her sixteenth birthday, Hazel surprised Tessa with a sewing machine of her own. Tessa took piano lessons for nine years and had just taken her grade four exam. She loved visiting her grandparents after piano lessons, where she was allowed to eat as many buns with cheese whiz as she could. Tessa was super focused on finishing her piano pieces quickly. One day she decided to learn and memorize Beethoven’s Fur Elise. She was successful and needed it recorded right away for proof. Tessa also learned to chord. She would spend hours singing worship songs and taking requests. Music was a big part of her life. She met a great guy who performs with his guitar; and Kaden soon became an important part of our family. Kaden’s goal this summer was to see Tessa every day. He was close to achieving his goal. With such a hot summer, Kaden and Tessa spent a lot of time at different lakes. He also joined us on some family vacations, knee boarding and fishing. Over the summer their love blossomed into a beautiful love story of two people who shared so much in common. This summer, Tessa worked as a farm hand for Dean and Shaleen Marshall. She was excited to be working to earn her own car. She came home everyday at noon excited to tell us about her great conversations with Shaleen, Dean, Trent, Rebecca, Harvey, Abe, Victoria and especially Kirby. We wondered how much work Kirby and Tessa actually did. Over the years our family travelled to many places. We were able to visit the Vancouver area, Hawaii, San Diego and Yuma. We drove along the Oregon coastline. We made trips to the mountains and took many fishing and camping trips. The most important trip to Tessa was our mission trip to Mexico where she solidified her faith. Tessa loved Jesus with all her heart. She was a light to all those around her. Tessa journaled a lot of prayers and prayed for her school mates, friends and family. Tessa loved to worship and even wrote songs about her love for Jesus. She was open to being with Jesus. Tessa passed away suddenly on August, 13, 2021 at the age of 16 years. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Devon and Felicitas; sister, Jacoba (Zachary); brother, Rhett (Julia); boyfriend, Kaden Campbell; grandparents, Ken & Dolores Cornish and Richard & Margaret Chibri; aunts & uncles, Kris (Carmen) and their children, Madelyn & Olivia; Robin; Duane (Heather) and their children, Matt & Mya; Madeleine (Mike) and their children, Matthew & Elijah; Deborah (Jason) and their children, Nadine, Nicole & Jared; Rhonda (Colt) and their children, Harmen & Oesa; Brenda (Jeff) & their children, Jonah, Gabriel, Micah & Eli; special aunt, Hazel Cornish; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Tessa was predeceased by her Great Grandmother, Isobel Cornish.
