Obituary of Leo Edwin Adam Fleck
Please share a memory of Leo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Leo Edwin Adam Fleck was born on April 5, 1936, in Macklin, Saskatchewan, to Joseph and Mary Eve Fleck, the ninth of eleven children. He was raised on the family farm in Bodo, Alberta. At the age of 28, after his parents moved into Provost, he remained on the homestead and took over the day to day operations. While farming was his passion, he also worked in the oilfield for many years. Towards the end of his career, he took his talents to the Hillcrest Lodge where he did maintenance work. He thoroughly enjoyed this job because he was able to socialize with the residents.
On September 27, 1976, Leo married Geralynn Scherer with whom he spent almost 46 fulfilling years of marriage. They were blessed with four children. Leo loved watching them play sports and was very proud of all of their accomplishments. His nine grandchildren were his pride and joy. He cherished spending time with them by playing games, cheering them on in their sports, telling stories and especially making them laugh. He had an enormous love of farming, curling, playing cards, walking and socializing. He also took great pride in his yard.
Leo passed away, with his family by his side, on September 12, 2021, at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 85.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Geralynn; his son, Michael (Tina) and their children, Elijah and Canaan; son, Jerrold (Jacki); daughter, Jaimie (Darren) and their children, Sawyer, Colbie and Presley; daughter, Kara (Mike) and their children, Madden, Quinn, Brooks and Everly; his three sisters, Rosemary, Ida and Marianne (Gene); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Eve; siblings, Raphael, Matt (Francis) (Eileen), Nicodemus, Norbert (Loyola), Mary Anna, Leona (August) and Nick (Joey); brothers-in-law, Norbert and Ed; and twin grandchildren, Joseph and Katherine.
