Obituary of Edward Charles Perkins

Edward Charles Perkins was born in Wainwright, Alberta to Charlie and Grace Perkins on August 29, 1954. Ed went to School in Chauvin and grew up working on the family farm with his father, Charlie; older brother, Art; and little brother, Gordon. He left the farm and worked as a Rig rough neck and Derrick man on the drilling rigs before meeting Patricia Denhertog in 1980. The two of them moved to the family farm in 1981 where Ed started farming with his Dad again and eventually taking over the family farm. He worked various jobs, long haul trucking, equipment operator, was the fertilizer guy when he worked at Andruko Group and eventually worked at The M.D. of Provost where he ran trucks and equipment. He retired in March of 2021 from the M.D.
He was a scout leader and a proud 4H Dad. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his grandchildren, Kaydance and Landen. Later in life he found his love of travel, visiting multiple tropical locations.
Ed passed away on October 20, 2021 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 67 years.
Ed is survived by his wife, Pat; children, David (Melissa), Alison and Benjamin; grandchildren, Kaydance and Landen; siblings, Arthur, Gladys, Bill and Gordon.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanna; parents, Charlie and Grace.
A private family Funeral Service for Ed will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Community of Christ Church in Ribstone, Alberta. Ed's service will be livestreamed online via GFH's FaceBook & YouTube pages for all friends and family who are unable to attend in person. The livestream will be assessable 10 minutes prior to the service starting.
