Obituary of Rosemarie Theresa Reichert

Please share a memory of Rosemarie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosemarie Reichert was born on July 24, 1928, to Sebastian and Anne Walz on the family farm. She was the third eldest of twelve children. She attended Ackerman School until Grade 8. Her first job was cooking for her dad’s sister and her husband, Helen and Wendelin Reinbold of Bodo, Alberta. Next, she worked with Joe and Eleanora Hollman. Eleanora was a schoolteacher and Rosemarie cooked, cleaned, and cared for their children. Rosemarie met the love of her life, “her sweetheart”, Peter Reichert at a dance where he played in the band. They were married at St. Peter’s on October 8, 1949. She always said how lucky she was to marry Peter. The love that these two shared was a true example of what love really is. When Rosemarie and Peter lived in St. Joseph's, each night they would hold hands, pray the rosary and then say, "Good night Sweetheart". Rosemarie had a great passion and talent for cooking, baking, gardening, and helping on the family farm. Peter and Rosemarie retired to Macklin in 1985. Here, her grandchildren were excited for their lunches at Grandma’s and looked forward to fresh perogies with golden brown breadcrumbs. It was combined with perfectly chilled apple juice. This was followed by a plumb piece of white cake topped with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream and the delectable sweetness of Grandma’s famous strawberry glaze. Some of the kids would go so far to ditch their lunch to go to Grandma’s for perogies. Rosemarie moved to St. Joseph’s in 2008. Here, she continued her joy in playing the card game, “Buck”. She also had a passion for reading everything about the Royal Family. She passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on February 8, 2022 at the age of 93 years.
