Obituary of Aileen Joan Friedrich (nee Reichert) Aileen was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on August 14, 1935 to Stanley & Annie Reichert (Rolheiser). She was the oldest of thirteen children. Aileen attended Barryville school. After finishing school she helped many families by caring for their children and helping out with their daily household chores. She also worked at Uncle George’s store in Cactus Lake and helped care for their family until she married Alex Friedrich October 28, 1957. Aileen and Alex farmed in the Cactus Lake area and raised five children: Theresa, Debbie, James, Denis & Lori. In 1985, they semi-retired and moved into their new home in Macklin. Aileen was a member of the CWL and Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Her faith was very strong and she attended church daily. She loved looking after and caring for people. She loved playing cards, discing, quilting, visiting with family and friends, baking and cooking. Everyone was always welcome in their home and never left with an empty stomach. After Alex passed away in 1999, Aileen spent her latter years in the Villa and then St. Joseph’s Health Center. Mom passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Center on March 6, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Aileen will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Theresa (Neil) Van Soest, Debbie (Mike) Sekulic, James (Carlene) Friedrich, Denis (Joanne) Friedrich, and Lori (Cameron) Goebel; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan (Mykaela), Robert, Alison (Mark), Luke, Jessica, Kerry, Kelsey, Andrew, Delaney, Ava, Logan, Nicholas and Alicia; great grandchildren, Karol, Gemma, Casimir, Rosalie and Blaise; brothers and sisters, George (Eva) Reichert, Elizabeth (Louis) Gartner, Helen (Tony) Schlosser, Daniel Reichert, Marj Stang, Herb (Pat) Reichert, Marie Reichert (Gerrit Krol), Bernie (Emily) Reichert, Lucille (Dick) Krol; brother in law, Ken (Pearl) Born; sisters in law, Louise Gartner, Tillie Rhinas and Rose Peterson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex; brother, Edwin Reichert; sisters, Florentine Reichert and Evelyn Born; brothers and sisters in law, William Stang, Ivan Peterson, Mary (Othmar) Stang, Theopold Gartner, Wendelin Gartner, and Joe Dieser. She will be forever missed & lovingly remembered. Mass of Christian Burial in honour of Aileen will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan with Father Binu Rathappillil officiating. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Macklin, Saskatchewan.
