Obituary of Bruce Edward Mear

Please share a memory of Bruce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bruce Edward Mear was born January 31, 1957, in Provost, Alberta. He was the second son and second oldest of the six children of Raymond and Clara Mear. Bruce took his schooling at Provost and Lakeland College. Lifeguarding at the Provost Pool was his first paying job and from there he worked for Taylor Trenching doing water and sewer. School bus driving, carpentry, farming, and custom combining were just a few of the things that kept him busy over the years. He was a “Jack of all Trades” but loved the farm the most and will forever be a “farm boy”. He got into hauling fuel for a living and eventually owned his own business. He spent the last couple of years building his dream house. He worked hard but he also had a lot of fun. He loved to travel with Donna and made friends everywhere he went. Holidays were spent in Mexico, France, and Eastern Canada. Belize was their favorite and at one time they planned to retire there. In August 1996 he married Lorrene and in August 2013 he married Donna. Sadly and unexpectedly, Bruce passed away May 8, 2022 at the ICU in Red Deer Hospital at the age of 65 years. Bruce is survived by his mom, Clara Kropinske of Campbell River, BC; brother, Jerry (Bev) of Campbell River and their children Brad (Lindsay), Greg and Nick; sister, Elaine Johnstone and her children Andrew, William and Diana; sister, Sheila (Darin Hauck) of Provost and their children Ryan, Jackson, Mackenzie and Chad. Bruce was predeceased by his dad, Raymond (1982); first wife, Lorrene (2002); brothers, Ron (2004) and Duane (2007); step dad, Wesley (2019). A funeral for Bruce will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lutheran Church in Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating.
