Obituary of Kathleen Elizabeth Levitt

Kathleen was the first of three children born to Albert Riseley and Catherine (Beatty) Riseley. She was born in Provost, Alberta, on October 9, 1922. Her siblings, Norah and Jack, arrived a few years later. She grew up on the farm north of Provost, and graduated from Provost High School. In 1942 she took teacher training at Normal School in Edmonton. Beginning in 1943 she taught at a number of schools including White Rat School (near Therien), Eastervale (south of Amisk), Sulfur Springs School, Marquis School, and finally Provost Public School from 1947 to 1951. She married Norman Levitt on November 10, 1951, at the Riseley family farm near Provost. She and Norman raised their family on their farm north of Hayter where she lived until December 2012.
Kathleen will be forever remembered and dearly missed by her husband, Norman; sister Norah; brother Jack (and Janet); three children: David (and Jeannette), Margaret, and Marian (and Stephen), all now living in Edmonton; nine grandchildren: Michelle (and Larry), Ian, Andy, Jeremy, Jared, Erik, Lauren, Brendan, and Jeremy; and two great grandchildren: Zachery and Gaven; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Catherine in 1972, and Albert in 1979, as well as five brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one nephew, and two nieces.
