Elizabeth Agnes Bichel was born on August 12, 1931, to parents, Barbara (nee Kloster) and Emmanuel Stang at the homestead located at Section 22, Township 37, Range Road 28, West of the 3rd, Saskatchewan. She was the third oldest of 12 children.

On December 31, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family, Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Seasons Retirement Home in Drayton Valley, Alberta at the age of 91 years. Elizabeth had called Season’s home for the past three years.

At 17 years of age, Elizabeth started her employment at the local hospital in Macklin, Saskatchewan. For five years, she worked as a nurse’s helper in the operating room under the guidance of Dr. F. Eid and Sister Marcela. In 1953, she married the love of her life, William, and soon started a family of three children. Elizabeth’s unique talents and accomplishments of which she was most proud of was passing a grade twelve equivalent exam  from the Province of Saskatchewan Department of Education in 1978, as well as completing a diploma in bookkeeping and Pastoral Care. She loved her retirement home in Macklin, enjoying golfing, cooking, and entertaining her family and friends over the years.

Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her three children, Gordon (Nada) Bichel, Charlotte (Bruce) Vollman and Harold (Rose) Bichel; eleven grandchildren, Patricia (Brian) Robertson, Heather Knorr, Mandi (Kelly) Ochsner, Natalie (Tim) Cameron, Jocelyn Nokinsky, Tamara (Troy) Edwards, Jenelle Vollman (Keegan), Ryan (Carmen) Bichel, Brittney Bichel, Garrett (Shelby) Bichel  and Tyler Bichel (Brittany); great grandchildren, Wyatt and Fletcher Robertson; Hampton Knorr; Taylor, Martina, Taren, Suzannah, Rachel, Evanya, and Veronica Ochsner; Landen, Preston, and Mason Cameron; Avery Edwards; Benjamin Norman; Parker, Pierson, Chase, and Reese Bichel; Declan, Emmeline, and Rowan Christie; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, William; parents, Barbara and Emmanuel; sisters, Mary and Ludwena; brother, Mark; brothers and sisters in law, Laurie, Joseph, Josephine & Vincent, Nicholas & Rhea, Cecilia & Richard, Pius, Alice & John, Phillip, and Bill; great granddaughter, Abigail.

Prayers for Betty will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan with Father Binu Rathappillil officiating. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery. For those travelling from Alberta, please remember the one hour time change.
