Obituary of Arthur Joseph Stang

Please share a memory of Arthur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Arthur was born on September 10th, 1938, the fourth youngest child of Joseph and Clara Stang. He attended school at Falconhurst and St. Mary's School. He worked for a geophysical company doing seismic work for 7 years and for the elevator crews for 8 years. He then worked for Stang Construction for 10 years. In the fall of 1982, Arthur started working for St. Joseph Hospital in the maintenance department. During this time he achieved his fireman's papers and received his fourth class Power Engineering Certificate through SAIT. He worked as head of the maintenance department at both the Golden Twilight Lodge and St. Joseph's Health Center. Arthur retired in the fall of 2003. On October 8th, 1966, Arthur married Maureen Rolheiser from Cactus Lake, Saskatchewan. They were married at St. Donatus Church in Cosine. They lived in Primate for two years. In 1968 Arthur and Maureen built their home in Macklin. In the 45 years that they lived there, Arthur continued his love for woodworking by enhancing their home with his many projects. His second great love was the outdoors, and he spent countless hours in his yard, front and back, adding features including the dream playhouse, a hill, a patio, flower and vegetable gardens, arbors, and a front deck where he loved to sit on summer evenings. He was always modifying, adding and moving trees, shrubs, and the grandchildren's favorite, water features. Arthur loved nature, and he gained such pleasure feeding birds and wild deer in his backyard. During his retirement years, Arthur turned his garage into a living space where he could watch his beloved Blue Jays or entertain friends and family, especially on Bunnock weekend. Arthur passed away unexpectedly in his home during the early hours of January 13 with his wife by his side. Left to cherish his memory, his girls; his wife of 46 years, Maureen; daughters, Annette, Norma, Raelene, and Cheryl. Missing him deeply and carrying on his legacy, his boys; Les Beyak, Tom Saretsky, Jeff Kenney, and Shayne Shepherd. Treasuring every memory, his grandchildren; Dylan, Tyson, and Michael Beyak; Nathan and Jenna Lee Saretsky; Brady, Spencer and Arthur Kenney; and Ella-Sophia Shepherd. Welcoming Good Dad into heaven, his daughter Mary and granddaughter, Janea Saretsky. O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to my family as a message of love.
