I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to attend the service for such a great man. Fr Ron's, Aunt Maureen 'sand Uncle Pius's speeches really let us see all the things we know and love about Uncle George and a lot that we were not privy too. So very grateful to have been able to attend the service....even from so far away. It didn't feel far at all.

We are so sorry not to be able to be with you this morning to say farewell to our dear, dear friend George.
George has been a gift to our Church in so many ways and in a very special way to the Lay Formation Program. George set the tone for the program with his humble, constant presence, year after year. He came to each weekend, 10 weekends a year, driving from Macklin, for over 20 years. George was a servant in every way, providing help without being asked and doing so with kindness and of course, bringing a smile with his listening heart. And the corny jokes, and Year I versus Year 2 stand up comedy routines were something legend.
Go with God, Dear Friend. We love you and will miss you so very much.

It wasn't that long ago (last fall) that I had the pleasure of visiting with George briefly after another funeral and he was as gracious as ever and yes had a joke to round out the conversation. So sad that we won't see that ever friendly and welcoming face anymore. He was special and was most certainly loved. May our God welcome him into his loving arms and unite him with all those loved one's who he will join in that special place arranged especially for him!
Condolences to all of the Rolheiser siblings and family, God bless you all!

Our deepest sympathies to George’s siblings and extended family. Given our age difference, I didn't know my cousin George that well, however the few times I chatted with him, I was fortunate to witness his wit & delightful sense of humor. God bless you George, may you rest in peace.

George lived a life of dedication to his family and community, of service to his church, but we lovingly remember his humour as his eyes lit up and his grin spread from ear to ear, as he told one of his many jokes. Who can forget his classic - “If it’s a dog’s job to lay around, what does he do on his day off?”
Our condolences and love to George’s sisters and brothers, his many nieces and nephews, and his many friends. We miss him dearly, but heaven is a more mischievous and happier place with George rolling them in the clouds.
Love, Phil and Mary Wrubleski, Gold Canyon, Arizona.

George was the best neighbour we could ask for in my childhood home community of St. Donatus. Our family lived on the farm just down the road. George made all of us feel important and valued. He put into actions the caring words he spoke. His sister Agnes was my godmother. He will be missed. So sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Janice Heffner Gillett

George was a dear spiritual companion and spiritual mentor to many. I first met George through the R.C.I.A. program (parish level) , then Lay Formation program (diocesan level) and Peace and Development committee but and our friendship was forged through the many car rides to attend those various events and meetings.
George’s participation to varied ministries exuded his deep desire to worship God and to be a servant to His peoples. Thank you George for your example of discipleship!

George was one of my favorites. I knew him a bit as a child however my wife and I really came to know his charm, caring nature, laughter and true joy that lit up a room during our time at Lay Formation. I'm grateful that he opened his door for a surprise visit last spring. What George offered the world will live on for many, many years.

Uncle George - what an appropriate picture of you - "A farmer outstanding in his field!" ...I'm sure the first time I ever heard that was from you! And that you certainly were!! I have countless fond memories of you - playing crib, Christmas in Salvador, spending time with you when you were Uber George bringing mom (Leona) to Saskatoon for her cancer appointments, a new joke every time I saw you and ALWAYS hugs and kisses and a pinch on the cheek!! You were that one in a kajillion that we were all so blessed to have in our lives. Family gatherings will never be the same... you will be so very dearly missed... LOVE YOU FOREVER! Marilyn (Sieben)

I will never forget the time George supported me on a mission trip to the Philippines. He told me he would be praying for me and the team. It was totally unexpected. My bus driver all those years, now supporting my spiritual walk.
George was always kind and became a dear friend over the years, always stopping to tell a joke and see how I was doing when we would meet at the Bunnock tournament each year. He had a heart of gold and touched many lives. He was a man of rare quality and character. You will be dearly missed George.

I met George at Lay Formation and we hit it off, of course, right away. We had a "marriage of convenience" when we noticed that couples had one person in the food line and one sitting down until their partner got to the front we "married" so we could do the same. We shared notes each Christmas, including this year and he always reported on how my half of the farm was doing ( for some reason it never did well!). I invited him onto the diocesan youth retreat team - he was a great fit and kept the stories rolling for one and all. We got caught in a freak spring snow storm one year ( that was the night we made ourselves home in an empty farm house - we did leave a note! ) until George came and rescued us with the tractor and we spent the weekend with him and Fred and the cows. George always had and will continue to have a special place in my heart and my
ministry was richer with him
in it. Blessed was I to have such amazing people on that team to learn ministry with... I just wish I had been able to move home
to SK sooner to see him
again...I have no doubt that his crazy grin and kind heart will continue to bless me for a long time...Thank you George for being so generous with your heart. I am still walking the road to St Donatus with you!
