Obituary of Anita Marie Dieser
Please share a memory of Anita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anita Marie Dieser was born on December 31, 1945 in New Westminster BC to her loving parents Frank and Eda (nee Ruth) Mattus. As a new year's baby, she brought light and happiness to her family as the only daughter born to them. Anita and her mother Eda were very close throughout their entire lives. Anita went to high school in Provost and that is where she eventually met her husband Paul who predeceased her in March of 2018. Paul and Anita were married on October 9, 1965 and celebrated over 52 years of marriage together. They spent the majority of their married lives in Macklin, Saskatchewan on the Dieser family farm just a few miles south of the community. Anita is survived by her two brothers Frank and Lynn and is predeceased by her younger brother John, her parents, in-laws and her first grand daughter Angela Katherine.
On March 12, 2023 Anita passed away at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 77.
Anita will be lovingly remembered by her six children; Yvonne (Keith Baxter), Richard (Candy Sheridan), Elaine (Phil Mark), Janine (Kyle Nelson), Sharon (Mike Bluett) and Frank (Stephanie Reinbold); her grandchildren Jessy (Bobby), Gadge (Amber), Jordan (Maryanne), Korbin, Kahlan, Dalton, Payton, Kinley; and her great grandchildren Kian, Zoey, Archer; as well as numberous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Anita was an expert baker and crafter. She made the best dinner buns, cinnamon buns, beer buns and fancy cakes. Not to mention her homemade noodles and sauerkraut. If you ever had her chicken noodle soup, you will never forget it! The grandkids all loved the simplicity of her canned peaches with a dash of cream. She loved books, music, art and collecting things. Her expertise in sewing, crochet and various other creations will be loved and remebered by anyone who was the recipient of one of her works of art. She easily shared her love of creativity and could connect and inspire others with a willingness to mentor and teach what she knew.
Anita was a homebody and focused the majority of her life on her children and grandchildren and farming with Paul. During her farm life she raised chickens, goats, many kittens and dogs and had a fantastic garden. After the kids had moved on with their own lives, Anita continued to be a mom in several ways. Both by being a nanny to local families and to taking in foster children: she felt the need to continue raising the next generation. Anita filled her home with warmth and kindness. Everyone was always welcome at the Dieser farm for a meal or a visit.
Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan with Father Binue Rathappillil officiating. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Macklin, Saskatchewan.
