Obituary of Sally Theresa Stang

Please share a memory of Sally to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sally Theresa Stang was born to Barbara (nee Kloster) and Emanual Stang on March 22, 1938 and grew up on the family farm. She was the sixth born of 12 children.

For High School, she attended the Academy at Prelate, Saskatchewan then joined the teaching Order of Ursuline Sisters. She always wanted to be a nurse; she eventually left the Sisters to pursue a diploma in Nursing. Due to the misfortune of injuring her back, she couldn’t do anymore patient lifting. She went back to school for classes towards a Theology degree to work as a hospital Chaplain. This then took her to Regina General and Winnipeg Hospitals. She retired in the early 90’s to Edmonton to be closer to her Mom, who was in the Youville Home in St. Albert.

She died peacefully on June 13, 2023 at the University of Alberta Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Sally was a strong independent woman, who worked hard to achieve her goals.

She leaves to morn her passing, sisters, Anne Caouette, Sister Barbara Marie, Benny (Frank) Miller, Rosalia (Jack) Fischer and Colette; brothers, Florian (Carol) Stang and August (Marla) Stang; sister-in-law, Dianne Stang; aunts, Anne Kloster and Myrna Kloster; and uncle, John (Claire) Kloster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
