Obituary of Josephine Sieben
Please share a memory of Josephine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Josephine was born on January 2, 1928 in Bodo, Alberta to a family of 14.
Josie married Edward Sieben June 5, 1946, and together they raised twins, Donald and Dorothy; boys, Marvin and Colin. Josephine worked at the Provost Nursing Home where she built many great relationships with staff and residents. After retirement, she and Ed travelled extensively, many times with family.
Always looking for fun, her infectious smile and quick humor touched many hearts. Josephine was a long-time volunteer for many organizations and enjoyed being creative in crafts of all kinds. Her love of life’s simple pleasures reflected in her flowers and trinkets. An amazing lady, even better mom, and grandma. Josephine loved people and was loved by all who knew her. Her family were especially important to her, and she was extremely proud to be a part of 5 generations.
Heaven got a little brighter, July 5, 2023 as Josephine Sieben (nee Hauck) passed away peacefully at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 95 years.
She will be forever loved and missed by her children, † Donald (Donna), Dorothy ( † Edwin), Marvin (Happy) and Colin (Tita); grandchildren, Toni, Robbie, Gwenda (Ron), Warren (Tracy), Hang, Harry and Emma; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; brother, Norbert; and sisters, Vi and Lorraine (Dave); as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Josie was predeceased by her husband, Edward Sieben; son, Donald Sieben; and son in law, Edwin Baier.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at the Provost Hospital. They all took such good care of our Mom, and we can’t thank you enough.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Provost, Alberta with Father Christopher Selvaraj officiating. Interment will follow at the Provost Cemetery.
