I don't know how to say good-bye Rick. You were very important to me and a corner-stone to many people including the people at Bankers in Albania and the community. I still remember when I drove through Provost in the Fall of 2004 with Martin Graystone when we were starting up Bankers Petroleum and we stopped at the Northend Battery near Macklin to meet you. It was one of the best decisions I made to ask you to join us at Bankers and cannot thank you enough for everything you did for me and the project. I have too many stories about your practical jokes and was the target many times. On my birthday one year, you took me out for dinner near Apollonia in Albania to celebrate and I was so afraid that I once again would be a target that evening, that I sat with my back to the wall and just watched you the whole evening, I didn't even have a piece of my cake. In the end after sharing with me all the jokes you played on others on their birthdays, you didn't have to do anything and simply reminded me that "you couldn't do anything worse than what my mind was imagining", so you he just sat back with a "big Rick smile" on your face and chuckled with your "big Rick giggle" at the state of fear I put myself in. You taught me time and time again lessons about how to be humble and take life and work seriously but make sure you take time to have some fun and recognize the people who are truly what matter.
Of course I could go on and on as I know many people could on your practical jokes; to name a few, my Y2K compatible alarm clock (rooster), the traumatized goat upstairs at the lodge in Albania and of course the flour horn that got so many people.
You left a mark Rick and we will all miss you dearly. Thank you for everything, the memories, the support and most importantly the friend-ship. I love and miss you Rick. Rest in peace.
We extend our sincere and deep condolences to the whole Landmark family and all his friends and colleagues!
Suneel, Ruby, the Gupta family, the family from Bankers in Albania.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to Trudy, Cody Brandee & girls, Kyle, Wade, Amber and girls. Rick was an incredible guy. He touched the lives of so many and was well respected by all. He was a pillar in the community and his generosity was felt by everyone he came into contact with. He knew how to work hard and be professional but also how to have fun and enjoy life too. I have funny memories of him from when I was younger like the night dad and him were put in charge of BBQing steaks but got a little distracted with their conversations and we ended up having burned offerings. So many fond memories of working together with Rick at Sounding Lake. He was a true leader and showed so much dedication and commitment to making sure everyone he worked with was kept safe and treated fairly. His sense of humour and practical jokes kept everyone entertained and on their toes. From live snared gophers awaiting operators in the centrifuge or their toolboxes to fish in the water load lines awaiting the truckers, it was never a dull moment at work. So many knew of the notorious horn than awaited unsuspecting salesmen in his office…. It was always exciting for us operators to see who his next victim would be. So many coffees were shared in the morning after doing rounds at the battery. Discussions about what he watched on the discovery channel the night before or sharing knowledge about the history of the Sounding Lake area. With his love of history, it was only fitting that he would journey to Europe and fall in love with Albania and the Albanian people. I had the pleasure to witness his compassion and generosity for others in Albania as well. Rick was loved and respected by so many and leaves so many wonderful memories behind in those that he came into contact with. I’m grateful for Rick and the opportunities that he has provided for me and my family. I know he will be deeply missed by all of us.

Our deepest condolences to you Trudy and family in these sad times.
I am so thankful that I was able to speak to Rick recently and we had a good long chat.
Rick was a one in a million, well liked and respected by all.
I was so fortunate to have begun working with Rick at Sounding in 1989.
One thing that will always stick in my mind is the commitment and loyalty that Rick had portrayed as he would always put his number in first in the plant call out machine if it was colder than -20 so that he would get the first call and head to the battery and try to minimize a large shut down. It made no difference if he was on days off or not, if he was around, he took first call and there was no talking him out of it.
I’m going to miss his sense of humor as everyone witnessed or was the recipient of his tricks and jokes.
A book should be written of these escapades and shenanigans.
These are sad painful times for sure but I will always think of Rick during happier times and his deep from the heart smile. I’ll never forget him and will always miss him.

I am heartbroken to hear of Rick’s passing. He was one of a kind; an exemplary husband, the father that a child deserves, and the grandfather that we wish for. Rick was kind and caring, funny as they come and the slickest prankster I have come across. He was one of the good ones and I feel lucky to have existed within his orbit, if only for a little while. Rest easy Rick.

In memory of our Rick:
Down the lane of life we walk,
sometimes alone, sometimes with friends,
We run, we stop, we fall, and we climb,
sometimes laughing, sometimes in pain
Through the smooth and rough roads we walk,
holding each others hands.
We live for another lifetime
in the hearts of our friends.
We’ll all remember how Rick’ got us all together for a good cause organizing the Bankers Stampede.
A kind soul who will be missed by all.
My heartfelt condolences to Rick’s family.
