Obituary of Barry Wayne Thomas Ruth

Barry was born May 24, 1945 in Macklin, the third child & first son of Norbert & Hilda Ruth. They lived on the Ruth family farm south of Hayter. Barry took his schooling at Western Ridge School in the Rosenheim District, then went to Saint Thomas Aquinas School in Provost for Grade 9. Barry left school to help on the family farm due to his father's ill health. He took on various jobs such as carpentry & plumbing, and was a grain buyer, then finally studied and achieved his Masters Electrician designation.
Barry met the love of his life, Edith Gartner, in 1968 in Macklin. They married May 16, 1970 and together they had two daughters. Barry's hobbies & passions throughout his life were trapshooting, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a noble, kind gentleman whose faith was very important to him.
After a lengthy illness, Barry passed away peacefully in the arms of his family at home on January 30, 2013 at the age of 67 years.
Barry will be forever remembered and dearly missed by his wife of almost 43 years, Edith; children and grandchildren, Corrine Ruth-Irvine (Shaun Heidt) and Brett, Brooklyn, Kristen Irvine & Jada Heidt and Keri-Lynn Ruth (Chris Hiltz). Also left to mourn are his brothers and sisters Antoinette (Bob) Holman, Armella (Clarence) Stang, Fred (Sharon), Yvette (Jim) Gartner and Tim (Deb); Aunt Kaye (Orville) Broemling; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
Barry was predeceased by his parents, Norbert and Hilda Ruth; sister, Shirley (Ferd) Holman; and nephew Shawn Stang.
